I've never used Kubernetes in anger, for the stuff I do, I manage just fine with bare-metal hardware running services with systemd.
The (IMO very funny) comments here about k8s causing emotional damage, human rights violations and need to take drugs have reassured me that I should stick to my bare-metal. It is the way.
