The European Parliament is voting on the Artificial Intelligence Act.

This Act is the first of its kind and goes beyond voluntary codes.

Companies must comply with rules requiring the public to be informed about risks associated with AI products.

Fines for breaking the rules could be up to €30m or 6% of a company’s global annual turnover.

The Act will not come into force until at least 2025.
