The combined actions of the US and Russia have probably turned Ukraine into the next Afghanistan. I'm not sure what the implications of that will be for the rest of the EU, but that level of destruction, the rearmament of Poland and the concerning energy situation overall (the last decade more than the last year) are inauspicious.
