I wrote a blog post years ago discussing the possibility of combining echolocation with augmented reality and binaural audio to help the visually impaired navigate their environment with the aid of just a cell phone. Now that some cell phones have LiDAR baked in, this is totally feasible to build today. Anyone want to fund it and open source it? I Truely believe this should exist and will in the future in some form.
