The standard way is to close inline things inline and close multi-line things on a separate line.

Like this:

  (+ (EXPT 23 2.4)
     (SIN (* 44 0.23 22))
     (COS (+ 12 0.43 19.0))
     (TAN (/ 1.4 0.77 3/4))
  )

Instead of

  (+ (EXPT 23 2.4)
     (SIN (* 44 0.23 22))
     (COS (+ 12 0.43 19.0))
     (TAN (/ 1.4 0.77 3/4)))
