a miniscule point in the article which I can't get past:

0.99 recurring is not the same as 1. how can it be? the difference is infinitely small and the difference is not, and can not be zero.

I have been called names because of this.

"0.99 recurring" is an approximation and "1.0" is not, so how can they be considered the same?
