Ask HN: Is Google personalizing search in private windows/other browsers?
I did some research about gender equality in the workplace.
Now when I type "how many companies"
The first recommendation is "how many companies had achieved the maximum score of 100 on the gender equality index by 2021"
Whether I use Firefox, Opera, or private windows I get the SAME recommendation.
But when I use another IP(in a private window) I get something completely different.
Does anybody know if they're actually personalizing stuff based on your IP/fingerprinting?
I mean I always knew that they were mostly aware of you are regardless of cookies, but never thought they'd change stuff based on that data?
