I don't get what is the news here and why this is in top. You could always replace the battery. It's just that it is not easy. Now to replace it, you need to remove a trackpad. Ridiculous. You still can't purchase a replacement battery from Apple to replace it yourself. The only option is to purchase it from a place like iFixit once your warranty is out, or pay ridiculous price at Apple.
