Ask HN: How do I get traffic on a shoe-string budget?
I launched my web app on HN about 3 months ago - http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2460406 - (100 days to be exact) and am struggling to get traffic.
As a result of low traffic, I don't know what to optimize, because I feel like I don't have enough of a sample size to accurately tell me what I am doing right and wrong.
I have tried guest post blogging, submitting my site to lots of 'galleries', plugging it where appropriate and helpful - but I am at a paltry 5.5K uniques since launch.
Any ideas?

P.S. The web app is targeted at designers/photographers/creatives.
