This is a very weird comment, of course the people driving this have a long history with the kernel... It takes about 2 minutes of using git to find out that Miguel's (the main author) first commit to the kernel was back in 2006, and that he's the maintainer of multiple different drivers.
The rust community is naturally happy to help out, but I can't even imagine us being able to drive this sort of work...
