We enthusiasts and true Android users do not need latest garbage OS. And press needs to stop shilling for 1 Year cycle of phones which are planned obsolescence due to sealed off battery and lack of repairs, the Li Ion battery dies off and no way to replace other than get it serviced at the company and pay a lot.
Apple has been sealing off the damn Macs with Soldered BGA garbage to RAM and damn Keyboard, Touchpad, Battery as well need a full replacement. It's very very bad for planet and consumers.
- Multi tasking is borked by the horizontal navigation on a vertical screen since Pie.
- QS tiles dead since Pie, Shame LG and Samsung neither used it (https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/03/07/android-p-feature-s...)
- Gesture Nav sucks and it ruined the one good thing from Pie, Fast scroll on the bottom bar is dead, Quick switch is flat out bs and pretty much dead.
- Same as above which hampers the use of Split screen adding extra steps.
- Scoped Storage introduction is very very bad for Android ecosystem, Developers, Users, File Managers, fundamentally Android itself (The workaround is temporary as Playstore n-1 SDK update enforcement is basically saying fuck you all draconian policy) What the actual fuck is Google thinking ?

- Background processes limitations more on Oreo and up.
- Death to Undocumented APIs and Accessibility API
(https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/69211494)
- Location options nerfed to a minimum, same like iOS instead of battery mode.
- APEX and all is BS more power to PlayStore masqueraded as quick updates, what happened to the Treble which was heralded as some ground breaking change (Didn't do damn for Custom ROMs as well since they are GSIs and no Device specific optimization Kernel code means it sucks.)
- Hard to root because Filesystem merges, Dynamic Partitioning basically fusing partitions to do some dynamic update BS again like A/B hampering Custom ROM / Modding scene, thankfully Magisk dev updated the root solution since Q Beta but whole TWRP needs to be adjusted again, like double flashing BS.
- Wifi Scanning apps all are nerfed since Pie, no fix yet on Q (They confirmed but nothing in sight yet)
- Death of Clipboard apps, same like Draw Over Other apps died, EX dev resorted to root for his DevCheck app, Bixby app due to Undocumented API death with no replacement, Accessibility API death add the Phone/SMS app Cerberus death

- Ugly tinting of the lockscreen and shade.
- Bubbles suck since the main intent is to kill System Alert window, which is super idiotic.
- Still the dots are there which is BULLSHIT and same for Time on left, no simple switch in sight yet thanks to fake notch and the Ugliest abominated notch of 3XL they had to kill all.

- Still no SD card app support officially from Google on any of their devices not even their BGA soldered Chromebooks/Pixelbooks.
- More OS level features are going to Pixel System UI (Proprietary) esp on Pixel phones which is BS again and Orwellian.
- Finally the best part yet half baked is Dark mode, not True Dark but lame arse Grey, even iOS got it right with pure black.
Remember this (https://www.androidpolice.com/2017/03/22/android-o-feature-s...), from N you had package level battery info, Dead from Oreo and Pie hides more shamelessly (https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/03/08/android-p-feature-s...), while look at iOS junk it has got new graphs and all for battery, guess who lost ?
And as usual Huawei doing their agenda of brainwash by subversion which resembles their home turf of chastising and guess who was inspired ? Google, read below.

Press often calls Treble as some sort of messiah while the GSIs are just JUNK, non optimized generic OS images useless. And the new APEX is being touted as some revolutionary BS again, custom ROMs beat those GSI crap by a huge margin.
Security is a misnomer in this age of Digital Oil era, the Digital footprint is bigger than Carbon nowadays. very hard to decouple, (Hint - AMD PSP, Intel ME, Apple Kat.cr case, Apple China VPN case, Apple iCloud case, Snowden etc...), shame how people are so naive that latest is greatest and they don't even think how many things they are losing.
Look at Win7 vs Win10, Win 10 has 18mo EOL policy on the SAC - Semi Annual Channel update where you see the releases and constantly bud ridden and also breaking Control panel. Only version usable is LTSC that too with a DISM tool to service the image and hack the whole OS, chop off the junk.
Google has been off the track as of now.
Made for Google - Clone of Made for iDevices, Licensing for Lightning, same here.
Copy the iPhone 6 for Pixel OG. Copy the lack of jack, death of 3.5mm on their Pixel 2. Copy the Notch from iPhone on 3XL.Copy the Face ID. Copy the Playstore icons into rounded squares like iPhone. Copy castrated Filesystem with Scoped Storage which is the best that Android has got and no SD slot in their devices.
SD Slot is contingency, in a case of phone breakdown or any emergency situation only the SD card helps quickly can read in Windows PC. And can hold data irrespective of the cloud SaaS and it's on demand.
