Haskell record syntax with lenses is workable:

  import Control.Lens

  data MyRecord = MyRecord { _a :: Int, _b :: MyRecord }
  makeLenses ''MyRecord

Then you can use it nested like:

  over (b . b . a) (+5) myRecord
