I wonder if this was made retrospective - how much tax would be owed by companies who replaced typing pools with copies of Microsoft Word and laser printers - or replaced rooms full of people using mechanical calculating machines with copies of Excel?

I understand the motivation, but the problem is nothing new (although the scale may be...)
