I am really confused... We have no problem killing over safety, territory, resources, personal freedom and family planning, and pet overpopulation. But somehow we just must rehabilitate violent criminals.
I'm personally pro-choice, pro-assisted suicide, and pro-capital-punishment, yet I find most people are one by not the others. We've successfully aborted 51 million fetuses since 1970 [1], successfully killed 162,333 people from the Wars in Iraq [2], successfully euthanized 2.7 million pets every single year in shelters [3] yet have this moral dilemma and problem with euthanizing murderers and individuals who have proven themselves to be a violent danger to society.
1) How is it that hard to put someone down? 2) Is there a cultural stigma attached to euthanizing a human being or is it a mental illness similar to stokholm syndrom where society feels sorry for the villain more than the victim. (similar to some communities that punish a woman if she's raped rather than punishing the rapist)
